Foliocast or an Instagram scheduler?
Later, Buffer, Planoly and Metricool schedule the posts you have prepared. Foliocast starts from your WordPress site and prepares the posts for you: cropped images, a caption with the credits, hashtags, edited Reels. They are not the same kind of tool, and depending on how you work, one or the other will save you more time.
The difference in one sentence
A scheduler helps you publish what you have created. Foliocast creates the posts from the projects already on your site, then publishes them. You review and approve.

What about WordPress auto-sharing plugins?
FS Poster, Blog2Social and Jetpack Social share your posts to social networks from WordPress. They publish the image or video you have already prepared; none of them says it builds a Reel from a project's images.
- FS Poster: from $58 a year for one site (introductory price, renewals at full price); schedules the Instagram Reels and carousels you provide.
- Blog2Social: free version without Instagram; Instagram Business on paid plans, video as an add-on.
- Jetpack Social: free version with unlimited shares; paid plan at $4.95 a month for the first year, then $9.95 (billed yearly).
What about Meta's free option?
Meta Business Suite and the Instagram app let you schedule posts for free. All the preparation is still yours: choosing the images, cropping them, writing the caption, finding the credits, editing the Reel. Foliocast exists to save that time.

Which one should you choose?
Foliocast
- Your projects or works are already presented on a WordPress site.
- You mostly post on Instagram.
- What you lack is time to prepare posts and edit Reels, not a calendar.
A scheduler
- You post on several networks (LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest…).
- Your content does not come from a WordPress site, or you design every visual by hand.
- You work as a team and need approval workflows or in-depth analytics.
They are not mutually exclusive: Foliocast can run your Instagram from your site while a scheduler handles your other networks.
